The C’s of Communication are one of the most important skills. Here below are five major C’s:
1. Clear:
One should follow the KISS principle and that is “Keep It Simple and Short”. Instead of using the word “commence”, using the word “start” is advised.
2. Concise:
Some phrases can be replaced by short words; for example, “in the event of” can be replaced simply by “if”!
One should avoid camouflaged verbs that is turning verbs into nouns. One should say “We analyzed” instead “We performed an analysis”!
One should use active instead of passive:
Passive- This great book was written by my sister.
Active – My sister wrote this great book.
One should also avoid redundant words: “Future plan” should be “Plan” because a plan is something in relation to the future!
3. Complete: Anticipation of questions will ensure that the message transmitted is so.
4. Correct: Mastering the essentials in the English language and hence grammar is crucial here.
5. Courteous: One should show respect to the reader.
