Five Significant Spanish Foods!

1. Churros: It is said that Spanish shepherds created churros as a handy alternative to bread. They named them after the horns of the Churra sheep, which they resemble. Typically, churros are savored by dipping them in hot chocolate.

2. Tarta de Santiago: A dessert crafted from almond adorned with cross, holds a special connection to pilgrims journeying to Santiago de Compostela, where the revered remains of Saint James are enshrined.

3. Tortilla Española: For this Spanish omelette, it is believed that General Tomás de Zumalacárregui created this dish from potatoes and eggs to feed his army.

4. Patatas Bravas: Why are they called "brave" or "fierce"? The name comes from the spicy sauce that accompanies these potatoes!

5. Fideuà: Legend has it that a fisherman, having run out of rice to make paella, used noodles instead. If you ever find yourself without rice, you should do the same!  You can add squid ink to change the taste—if you don't mind the black color!
